Classes at UNM-Cloudcroft
Classes conducted at UNM- fall into three categories:
• Mandatory
• Recommended
• Elective.
The ones designated as Mandatory are designed to ensure that all Citizens understand the rules and available services in the cluster of connected regions allowing everyone to participate from the start from a common basis. Recommended classes are designed to give offer knowledge on subjects which might enhance the experiences fundamental to the overall goals of the sim.
Examples include Character/Role Development, Mama-Allpa and Fundamentals of Role Play. Elective Classes generally focus on specific subjects within the broader objectives of the sim. Examples may include Family Planning, Erotic Role Play (ERP), Children of LC Associated Regions, Educational Opportunities, Careers, and similar topics.
These classes are conducted in text, not in voice.
Mandatory For Citizens and LC Roleplayer Classes
Orientation and Citizenship – Discussion of the objectives, themes, geography, IC Governance and rules of LC Associated Regions. Upon successful completion, Citizenship will be granted.
Recommended Classes
Character Development – Aspects of a well defined character in a role play environment; background, education, skills, career and personal goals; available roles within LC Associated Regions will be presented and the expectations of each. Includes a workshop where each participant can develop a character meeting individual needs with group discussion.
Fundamentals of Role Play – In Character versus Out of Character (OOC) comments; the flow of role play and things to avoid such as godmoding, etc. After a brief discussion of each topic examples will be given through role play with participants.
Mama-Allpa – Since LC Associated Regions is largely devoted to family role play couples may decide to have children. Mama-Allpa is the mechanism within SL for that process so its use will be discussed including methods to enhance or prevent pregnancy, care during pregnancy and delivery.
Elective Classes
Family Planning – (This class is a follow-on to Mama-Allpa); types of babies in SL; zooby versus funsies; care and development of babies and early childhood.
Erotic Role Play – Interpersonal relationships between couples is a major element of SL and LC Associated Regions, with its emphasis on family, recognizes that erotic role play between consenting adults is of considerable importance to their overall experience. Whether what is considered historically typical relationships between members of the opposite sex, or those of same genders, or even relationships including multiple partners, erotic role play enhances the experience. This class will examine how to approach ERP, use of a variety of adult beds and apparatuses will be included. With agreement of the class participants field trips may be taken to vendors of typical items and sims devoted to their use. Note, this is not a sex class, it is intended to be an informational seminar on the subject.
Children of LC Associated Regions – Opportunities, rules and responsibilities for those who choose a character in LC Associated Regions who is underage (non-adult). This class will be considered mandatory for anyone to take such a role and anyone planning to bring such a character into LC Associated Regions.
Educational Opportunities – An orientation of all classes of an informative nature offered by UNMC.(topics TBD)
Careers in the LC Associated Regions – For those intending to work within the sim a discussion of available job opportunities and the roles and responsibilities of each.
Childbirth in SL Track
Mama-Allpa for Parents
Starts February 27, 2021
Since LC Associated Regions is largely devoted to family role play couples may decide to have children. The Mama-Allpa System is a mechanism within SL for tracking fertility, conception, and pregnancy, it also has a built-in poser for sex and for birthing on your own if you choose to do so. There have been various add ons over the years, and we will discuss those, as well as how to get yourself out of a locked situation or if a pregnancy needs ending. We will discuss how to use this to enhance your roleplay, with and without the Digital Living System. (this class is a pre-requisite to Thoughtful Childbirth if you are a Mama Allpa user)
Thoughtful Childbirth*
Starts March 6 – 5 to 6 classes 9am SLT
This 5-week course is geared for those who want as realistic an understanding of the mechanics of a healthy physiologic pregnancy and birth.
• Class 1: Thoughtful Decisions
• Class 2: A Healthy Pregnancy
• Class 3: Understanding Labor and Birth
• Class 4: Birth Preferences, Communication and Comfort Measures
• Class 5: Variations in Labor, Cesareans, and Postpartum
• Class 6: What to expect in birth at CCGH (not required if not giving birth at CCGH)
This class has no prerequisites if not studying to be a MA Doc/Midwife

UNM-Cloudcroft OB/GYN and Mama Allpa TECHNICAL HUD CLASS
Starts April 10, 2021
Pre-requisites:
• Mama Allpa for parents
• Thoughtful Childbirth Class
This class is held at 9am SLT on Saturday once a week. ( PLEASE be on time and ready to learn.)
Each class is 1-1.5 hr long and lasts 11-12 weeks.
At the end of this course, you will
• Know… Mama Allpa policies
• Know how to conduct prenatal visits and attend births as a Mama Allpa Physician or Midwife.
• Be able to… Help patients troubleshoot their HUDs, pass a test on physiologic birth & the MA HUD.
