This month we have a lot going on, but I want to highlight that our FoundersDay is the 18th.  

We will have live music in Cloudcroft and a trolley can take you over to the Carnival over at Horten County.  That Carnival ENDS the 18th and something new will go in on the 19th so don’t miss it!  

ENTERTAINERS WANTED

We are actively looking for entertainment events for the 3pm, 4pm and 5pm slots, as events go from 1:30pm to 8pm. We would like y’all to enter this in your personal calendars and make sure you are there – as the live music booked will be amazing, and hey – it’s our homecoming right?  Let’s do it up!

ELECTIONS

Sheriff and Mayor Elections coming up in the LCAR

Voting starts on Nov 15 and runs to Nov 27, with the winners sworn in on December 4 after our Christmas Tree Lighting.  Voting will be limited to LCAR Group members only and held in the voting room of the courthouse like usual.  Extra Berson’s/Rolepay bonus’ will be given to the winner.

To be considered for Sheriff or Mayor in the LCAR you must at minimum have been an active resident (in Apex and active in the community) for 90 days before swearing in.  For more information reach out to morrigu.berry in world or file a notice of intent to run by dropping a note card in our inbox in the welcome center or the court house

WEDDINGS

Did you know that to get married in the LCAR you need to file an application for a wedding license?  This is a two fold thing – it’s both IC and OOC for the owners, It lets us know that you have an event planned, so we can provide security from griefers (Both Law and having Admin’s around) and make sure nothing else is happening that day in the location you want it to. 

It makes you all “Legal” in our community and gives you a cute marriage license for your walls, record or later burning in a divorce party if you’d like. 

OTHER EVENTS

We are a roleplay community – we love weddings and the fun they bring.  We love birthday parties, baby showers, etc – we’re all for them.  Please reach out to us though – even a quick NC in the box in either the Court House or the Welcome Center with info will help us help you and it keeps activities happening in our community.

HARVEST MARKET

Vendors wanted for a Harvest Market!

Calling all DFS/DLS Creators – do you farm or craft?  Are you looking for a small booth space to set up at with your goods and does the idea of being a participant in a Harvest Market sound good to you?  We have a DFS/DLS Family Roleplay sim filled with DFS/DLS users and we just set up our Harvest Market space right between the grocery store and the school playground.  Booths are limited – come give it a look-see and you could setup as early as tonight if you would like! Booths are 30L a week for 20 LI space and must be PG rated.

HOUSING

Recently we’ve added more affordable family housing, as a key component to attracting families is having what keeps them.  That big mansion across the street from the train station on Burro Ridge?  It’s gone.  In it’s place are single family homes, adorable and affordable.

In Montana North – we have housing for larger families too.  We are happy to say that it’s been discovered, and we believe a multigenerational family has moved into our southernmost property there.  The Montana North homes have farm space by the way… these all can be driven to and accessed easily by train, car, bicycle or horse.

For those looking for Farm Space for your DFS farms, and you might want to sprawl out more?  Never Fear!  We got ya covered!  At the Ruidoso Station from the train, you can take the road southwest and you’ll find not only DFS Fishing – but DFS Farm land for rent!  Who says elevation 3900 in SL has to be a skybox!  This is flat land just perfect for farming with mountains all around and some caves you might get to explore if you go far enough around there.  While you can’t drive your car from the ground to the Ruidoso level, if you rez your car at the tunnel entrance from Church street, you can drive the roads up there.  

Bento/Prim horses can be ridden through and there is another access point to the Lincoln Forest there… again not drivable but accessible by train and by horse. (Animesh horses won’t work – sorry folks.)

MONEY MONEY MONEY

We are starting to put in vendors that will allow users to sell their wares for Bersons. YES!  This is FINALLY coming in.  We use the RolePay (Trademarked name) system from Nexus, so money you earn in the LCAR can be spent in another RolePay community.  Will they call it Bersons?  Probably not.  BUT Goods and SERVICES can be used and purchased in this currency.  We can not allow purchase of Bersons/Rolepay dollars for Lindens or vice versa, as it’s a violation of Linden Lab’s TOS, and likely fits into the gambling rules somehow, so we will not be doing away with traditional vendors that sell for lindens.  We will never force you to sell your DFS or other created goods for Bersons, so you can rest assured that this is a roleplay option available like the others provided and paid for by sim ownership on an OOC level.  (DLS Amentities etc…)

DLS AMENTETIES

Energy and Fun are back in DiviniTea… and the court house has a bathroom for Hygeine and Bladder!  We’ll keep adding things and these are available for use to community members only while wearing a LCAR Tag.  If you wear a different tag you can’t even get in to the court house…

HUD Systems

We’re really hoping DLS will come out with something that impacts the meter for health in the coming year as they have been working with AvatarLove for pregnancy and making the pregnancy experience more realistic.  If you use LoveMomma or MamaAllpa and are pregnant you will see your stats be impacted by being pregnant – you may get sleepier quick, need to pee more often, need to eat more often… and as these are consumables, we are trying to make them affordable via your roleplay work in sim to buy – see the reference to RolePay above.  Rome wasn’t built in a day but we’re really happy with how it’s rolling out.  We are hoping to see further features for DLS that would make our Sheriff’s dept happy in the future, same with any hunters.  We’ll just have to keep hoping.  In the meantime – to roleplay risk of injury you can do a dice roll by clicking on the DLS logo on your DLS hud.  An option for rolling dice will come up…  we’re roleplayers, we can figure it out right?  The higher the number the more the critical hit… 

THE GOVERNORS THANK YOUS

We’ve got an amazing community and I want first and foremost to thank you all.  We’ve had some ups and downs this summer, said goodbye to a few folks as they logged out of First life, and have survived a pandemic together. That RL Pandemic isn’t gone yet, and we’re still keeping each other sane, becoming a family of sorts – some more than others.

I feel like this could just be filled with thank yous, as I am ever so grateful for this amazing community we have.  And I truly am.   I love how you all want to see us grow and are warm and welcoming to outsiders.  The fact that we have a carefully curated culture of OOC Decency and Kindness and inclusivity really is important as it attracts others like us, like a magnet would do.
